词条 Afon Cefni (1890 ship)
释义 {{Use dmy dates|date=January 2018}}{{Use British English|date=January 2018}}{{unreferenced|date=July 2015}}

The Afon Cefni was an iron, four-masted sailing ship. She was named after Afon Cefni, one of the rivers of Anglesey. Her sister ship was the Afon Alaw., also named after an Anglesey river. Like the Afon Alaw, the Afon Cefni was built in Glasgow, Scotland by A. Stephens & Sons for Hughes & Co from Menai Bridge, Anglesey, being completed a year before her sister.

The ship's career, however, was not long. In 1894 it was en route to San Francisco from Swansea when it was lost with all crew. Later, pieces of the ship washed up on the Scilly Isles off the coast of Cornwall.
