Each level only has one screen to blast hostile robots, solve challenging platforms, and manipulate a series of short puzzles.[4] 30 stages await players as they look forward to a boss battle on every tenth stage.[5] A weapon is available; its gunfire can be altered by changing the angle of the gun. Even the distance of the shot can be changed by holding down the button for extended periods of time. A two-player duel mode has been added; allowing players to fight either another player or the AI.[4] This game employs a third-person perspective with a side-view.[4][6] ReceptionOn release, Famitsu magazine scored the game a 17 out of 40.[7][3] References1. ^After Burst at GameFAQs 2. ^Composer information at VGMDB.net 3. ^1 2 Overview of After Burst at MobyGames 5. ^Level information for After Burst {{ja icon}} at Geocities.jp 6. ^Images of After Burst at Giant Bomb 7. ^お買い物に便利 : 新作ゲームクロスレビュー - アフターバースト.
