词条 | Aid on the Edge of Chaos |
释义 |
Described in a leading development journal as 'one of the most lauded contributions to recent mainstream development thinking', Aid on the Edge of Chaos has been endorsed by many top scientists and international leaders, including four Nobel Laureates in Medicine, Economics and Chemistry and the heads of Red Cross and United Nations as well as many NGO leaders.[5] It has been positively reviewed by various press outlets, including The Economist,[6] the Financial Times,[7] The Guardian,[8] New Scientist,[9] Nature,[10] Lancet, Harvard Business Review and the British Medical Journal. It was also the focus of an interview feature with the author in Huffington Post.[11] Aid on the Edge of Chaos was the subject of a public lecture by Ben Ramalingam at the Royal Society of Arts, London, in December 2013,[12] an event chaired by Geoff Mulgan, CEO of NESTA. The book was discussed by Ramalingam and Sir John Holmes at the Oxford Literary Festival in March 2014,[13] an event chaired by leading British filmmaker and author Bidisha. Many international aid agencies are applying ideas from the book in their work, including the UK Department for International Development,[14] United States Agency for International Development, the International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, UNICEF, World Food Programme, World Vision, the World Bank,[15] the United Nations[16] and Oxfam.[17] References1. ^{{cite book|url=http://ukcatalogue.oup.com/product/9780199578023.do |title=Aid on the Edge of Chaos: Hardback: Ben Ramalingam - Oxford University Press |publisher=Ukcatalogue.oup.com |date=2013-10-24 |accessdate=2014-05-10|isbn=9780199578023 }} {{science-book-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.theguardian.com/profile/ben-ramalingam |title=Ben Ramalingam | Global development |publisher=The Guardian |date=2011-02-22 |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.gov.uk/government/topics/international-aid-and-development |title=International aid and development - Topics |publisher=GOV.UK |date= |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.santafe.edu/research/themes/human-behavior-institutions-and-social-systems/ |title=Complexity and social systems |date= |accessdate=2014-05-14 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121106090804/http://santafe.edu/research/themes/human-behavior-institutions-and-social-systems/ |archive-date=2012-11-06 |dead-url=yes |df= }} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://aidontheedge.info/quotes/ |title=Reviews | Aid on the Edge of Chaos |publisher=Aidontheedge.info |date= |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 6. ^{{cite journal|author =Economist |url=https://www.economist.com/news/books-and-arts/21601226-poor-and-benighted |title=The politics of foreign aid: Poor and benighted |journal=The Economist |date=2014-04-26 |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 7. ^{{cite web|author =Amy Kazmin |url=http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/5e4ebccc-7312-11e3-b05b-00144feabdc0.html |title=Aid on the Edge of Chaos, by Ben Ramalingam |publisher=FT.com |date=2014-01-05 |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 8. ^{{cite news|author1=Heiner Janus |author2=Sebastian Paulo |url=https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2013/dec/24/book-review-aid-edge-of-chaos |title=Aid on the edge of chaos - review | Global Development Professionals Network | Guardian Professional |publisher=Theguardian.com |date= 2013-12-24|accessdate=2014-05-10|newspaper=The Guardian }} 9. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22029471.100-look-to-complexity-theory-to-solve-the-aid-problem.html |title=Look to complexity theory to solve the aid problem - health - 16 December 2013 |publisher=New Scientist |date=2013-12-16 |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 10. ^{{Cite journal | title=Books in brief| journal=Nature| volume=503| issue=7475| pages=195| date=2013-11-13| doi=10.1038/503195a| last1=Kiser| first1=Barbara}} 11. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dennis-whittle/ben-ramalingam-on-aid-and_b_805838.html |title=Dennis Whittle: Ben Ramalingam on Aid and Complexity |publisher=Huffingtonpost.com |date=2011-01-07 |accessdate=2014-05-10}} 12. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.thersa.org/events/our-events/whats-next-for-foreign-aid |title=What's Next For Foreign Aid?
