He held different government positions during the viceroyalty of Peru, including contador,[2] procurador,[3] mayordomo and Administrador general of the Church of Buenos Aires.[4] BiographyMuñoz was born in Lima (Perú) son of Juan de Gadea and Josefa Muñoz.[5] Established in the city of Buenos Aires for the year 1650, he was married to Francisca Cabral de Ayala,[6] daughter of Juan Cabral de Melo Alpoin and Inés Leal de Ayala, belonging to the families of Amador Baez de Alpoim and Mateo Leal de Ayala, two senior government officials in the Río de la Plata.[7] In addition to having served as mayor and procurator of the city, he served in the militia being Captain of the Fort of Buenos Aires and Captain of the Royal Armies in Chile.[8] Alonso Muñoz de Gadea and his wife had two adoptive daughters, Ines de Gadea Ayala, who was married to Capt. Tomás de Quiñones.[9] And Agueda de Gadea, wife of Bernardino Ramírez de Céspedes, an alférez, born in the city, son of Juan Ramírez, born in Málaga and Josefa de Rivera, daughter of Andrés Jorge de Bohórquez and Francisca de Rivera.[10] Agueda de Gadea was a remote ancestor of Angélica Fortunata de Andrade, the wife of Sinforoso Canavery. His wedding with Bernardino Ramírez, was held on November 27, 1687, and counted on the participation of Alonso Muñoz de Gadea, his wife Doña Francisca Cabral de Ayala, Juan Vazquez de Velasco and Captain Miguel de Riglos, commander of the Fort of Buenos Aires.[11] References1.
