Noted for her research into ultra-cold atoms, she was awarded a "Genius" grant in 2013 by the MacArthur Foundation[3][2] and the 2014 Maria Goeppert-Mayer Award of the American Physical Society.[4] EducationRey earned a bachelor's degree in physics at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá in 1999. On July 29, 2000, Rey got married.
