She lost her opening match to Spain's Úrsula Martin, who scored a waza-ari and threw her to the tatami with an uchi mata assault throughout the four-minute limit. Pazoutova seized her chance for an Olympic bronze medal, but fell short in another waza-ari kick to Belgian judoka and 1996 Olympic champion Ulla Werbrouck during their repechage match.[5][6] At the 2004 Summer Olympics, Pazoutova qualified as a lone judoka for her second Czech squad in the women's middleweight class (70 kg), by placing third and receiving a berth from the European Championships in Bucharest, Romania.[3][6] She pinned her Poland's Adriana Dadci with a seoi otoshi during the first match, before falling short in an osotogari throw to Australia's Catherine Arlove in the second round. While Arlove moved forward to the semifinal match, Pazoutova faced off against North Korea's Kim Ryon-mi for another chance to receive the bronze medal, but lost the match by a waza-ari point.[7][8] References1. ^{{cite sports-reference|Andrea Pažoutová|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/pa/andrea-pazoutova-1.html|1 December 2014}} 2. ^{{cite news|title=Atény vybojovala jen Pažoutová|trans-title=Athens has selected Pažoutová|language=Czech|url=http://archiv.ihned.cz/c1-14683680-ateny-vybojovala-jen-pazoutova|publisher=Hospodářské noviny|date=27 July 2004|accessdate=29 November 2014}} 3. ^1 {{cite news|title=Judistka Pažoutová vybojovala bronz|trans-title=Judoka Pažoutová wins the bronze|language=Czech|url=http://sport.idnes.cz/judistka-pazoutova-vybojovala-bronz-dwz-/sporty.aspx?c=A040515_170534_sporty_ot|publisher=Mladá fronta DNES|date=15 May 2004|accessdate=1 December 2014}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Medaile si nevystavuji, mám je v srdci, tvrdí judistka Pažoutová|trans-title=Judoka Pažoutová: "The medal cannot be issued, but I have truly have an experience"|language=Czech|url=http://www.rozhlas.cz/hradec/zpravy/_zprava/medaile-si-nevystavuji-mam-je-v-srdci-tvrdi-judistka-pazoutova--119363|publisher=Czech Radio|date=8 June 2004|accessdate=1 December 2014}} 5. ^{{cite web|title=Sydney 2000: Judo – Women's Middleweight (70kg)|url=http://library.la84.org/6oic/OfficialReports/2000/Masters/ju/JUresults.pdf|format=PDF|work=Sydney 2000|publisher=LA84 Foundation|pages=116–117|accessdate=23 November 2014}} 6. ^1 {{cite news|title=České judo zastoupí na OH jen Pažoutová|trans-title=Pažoutová will only represent Czech Republic in judo at the Olympics|language=Czech|url=http://oh.idnes.cz/ceske-judo-zastoupi-na-oh-jen-pazoutova-fcq-/olympiada-ateny.aspx?c=A040519_165925_sporty_no|publisher=Mladá fronta DNES|date=19 May 2004|accessdate=1 December 2014}} 7. ^{{cite web|title=Judo: Women's Middleweight (70kg/154 lbs) Repechage Round 2|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/martial_arts/results/3534196.stm|work=Athens 2004|publisher=BBC Sport|date=15 August 2004|accessdate=31 January 2013}} 8. ^{{cite news|title=Judistka Pažoutová skončila devátá|trans-title=Judoka Pažoutová finished ninth|language=Czech|url=http://oh.idnes.cz/judistka-pazoutova-skoncila-devata-d6h-/olympiada-ateny.aspx?c=A040818_120140_oh04_upol_rav|publisher=Mladá fronta DNES|date=18 August 2004|accessdate=1 December 2014}} External links
