Exarchou also dipped under a 1:10 barrier to set a Greek record of 1:08.99 in the 100 m breaststroke at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy.[3] Exarchou competed as part of the Greek squad in a breaststroke double at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Leading up to the Games, she cleared FINA B-standard entry times of 1:09.35 (100 m breaststroke) and 2:30.05 (200 m breaststroke) at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.[4][5] In the 100 m breaststroke, Exarchou raced her steady stretch to sixth place and thirtieth overall by two hundredths of a second (0.02) behind Turkey's Dilara Buse Günaydın in 1:10.47.[6] Three days later, in the 200 m breaststroke, Exarchou closed out the field in heat three to last and thirty-ninth overall by nearly ten seconds behind Belarus' two-time Olympian Inna Kapishina in 2:36.83. failing to advance to the semifinals.[7][8] References1. ^1 {{cite web|title=Angeliki Exarchou|url=http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/BIO/Athlete/9/211499.shtml|publisher=Beijing 2008|accessdate=12 January 2016|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20080910083832/http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/BIO/Athlete/9/211499.shtml|archivedate=10 September 2008|df=}} 2. ^{{cite sports-reference|Angeliki Exarchou|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/ex/angeliki-exarchou-1.html|1 December 2012}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Mediterranean Games: Federica Pellegrini Edges World Record in 400 Free; Ous Mellouli Doubles With African Record |url=http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/lane9/news/21514.asp |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120307222410/http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/lane9/news/21514.asp |dead-url=yes |archive-date=7 March 2012 |publisher=Swimming World Magazine |date=27 June 2009 |accessdate=10 April 2013 }} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Olympic Cut Sheet – Women's 100m Breaststroke|url=http://magazines.swimmingworld.com:9997/SPIPDF/080508olyscutsheet.pdf|format=PDF|page=68|publisher=Swimming World Magazine|accessdate=10 April 2013}} 5. ^{{cite web|title=Olympic Cut Sheet – Women's 200m Breaststroke|url=http://magazines.swimmingworld.com:9997/SPIPDF/080508olyscutsheet.pdf|format=PDF|page=71|publisher=Swimming World Magazine|accessdate=10 April 2013}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Swimming: Women's 100m Breaststroke Heat 4 |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc=SWW031900/index.html |work=Beijing 2008 |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=22 November 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120821032037/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DSWW031900/index.html |archivedate=21 August 2012 |df= }} 7. ^{{cite web|title=Swimming: Women's 200m Breaststroke Heat 3 |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc=SWW032900/index.html |work=Beijing 2008 |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=22 November 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120821062305/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DSWW032900/index.html |archivedate=21 August 2012 |df= }} 8. ^{{cite news|script-title=el:πρόσθιο: 38η στις 40 η Εξάρχου|trans-title=Swimming: Exarchou finished 38th out of 40 swimmers in the 200m breaststroke|language=el|url=http://www.ethnos.gr/ethnosport/summary.asp?catid=14926&subid=2&pubid=1278678|publisher=Ethnos.gr|date=13 August 2008|accessdate=12 January 2015}} External links
