The album sold over 40,000 copies ten days after its release, later being certified Gold. It's now certified Platinum.[3] Anitta's self-titled album spanned four singles and earned the singer a Prêmio Extra, two wins at the Brazilian Music Multishow Award in 2013, and a Latin Grammy Award nomination. In television, she performed on Rede Globo programs Esquenta!, Caldeirão do Huck, Encontro com Fátima Bernardes, Altas Horas, and Mais Você.[4] On April 6, 2013, Anitta performed on RecordTV's program Legendários. In May 2013, she attended other programs with anticipated release of the album's songs. "Tá na Mira" was serviced as the third single on April 23, 2013. The previous single, "Show das Poderosas," was released shortly before "Tá na Mira." In the same month, the music video reached 1 million views in one week on YouTube. On June 21, 2013, Anitta reported on her Facebook page that the album was available for pre-sale on her online store. The album cover was revealed on July 2, 2013.[5][1][2] Production and recordingAfter having called the attention of DJ Renato Azevedo (known as Batutinha) by recording a cover of Priscila Nocetti's song "Soltinha" and posting it on her channel on YouTube, Anitta was invited by Azevedo to do some tests of singing and presentations. After attracting the attention of Batutinha when dancing Stiletto (a modality of dance on top of the high heel), he decided to work with her. "Anitta is a set. The music, the voice, the dance, the charisma and the show", said Azevedo. From then on, Anitta started working for Hurricane 2000, but in June 2012, the businesswoman Kamilla Fialho paid about $260,000 to the team so that she could manage Anitta. Fialho set up a show with musicians and dancers, invested in the image of Anitta, and presented it to producers Umberto Tavares and Manozinha. So the big record companies looked for Kamilla, but it was with Warner Music that in January 2013, and in February Anitta released "Meiga e Abusada", the first work song and track that heralded the album that was projected for September. The project began to be developed in February, however, the songs were not enough to fill an album. So the artist went into the studio to compose with the production team. According to Wagner Vianna, artistic director of Warner, "the guys went without sleep some nights. Anitta gave a lot of opinion, but it was not complicated." In that period, Anitta wrote alone "Show das Poderosas" and "Tá na Mira". The record company liked the first song and released it as the second single from Anitta. Due to the performance of the song, the release of the album was advanced and on June 20, 2013 the singer released the album cover on her official Facebook page. On the cover, Anitta appears on a "brown background, arms open and her name written with a pink glitter in the image," describes Caras magazine. Anitta told Caras magazine that the brown behind means the ups and downs she's gone through, and the glitter in her name is the success she reached with her first album.[6][2][1] Music and lyricsRenato Azevedo was surprised to see Anitta performing on top of the stiletto-style dance, a dance that became world-famous thanks to the American singer Beyoncé. However, it was not just the dance of the American singer who inspired Anitta. According to Mauro Ferreira, some songs from the album could be on the list of some international R&B singers "industrialized", such as "Não Para". Following Ferreira's thinking, Braulio Lorentz of the G1 says that the track "Achei", if converted to English could appear the list of tracks of the albums of Rihanna, for example. The project on the "hole" left in the mainstream Brazilian pop market. For the PopLine site, Anitta receives "international influences with an eye on the throne" of Brazilian pop. Lorentz, still claims that the track "Zen" could make a good pair with "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz; For the site Que Delícia Né, Gente ?, the song mixes Chimarruts, Colbie Caillat and "carioquês". The album features sterile beats, and explores diverse musical genres such as pop, dance-pop, electropop, dubstep, R&B, reggae and funk carioca. And in general, the song lyrics affirm the power of woman, the power of seduction, with feminist and sensual themes - similar to the songs of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Kelly Key.[1] Release and promotionAfter "Meiga e Abusada" was released earlier that year, the album was scheduled for release in September 2013. On April 16, Warner Music released the second single, due to the song's commercial performance – peaking at number one on the Billboard Brasil Hot 100 Airplay. The label decided to advance the release to July 6, 2013. The album went on pre-sale on iTunes on July 2 and on the same day reached number one on the online store.[1] Simultaneously, Anitta had three songs on iTunes' chart – the single and acoustic versions of "Show das Poderosas" and "Não Para", respectively. "Proposta" had been previously released as promotional single on January 16, 2012, even though the singer didn't have a record deal and the song was subsequently included on the track list. "Menina Má" was released as promotional single on August 12, 2012, with the music video produced by Mais UP Produtora. Originally planned as the second single, "Tá na Mira" was eventually replaced by "Show das Poderosas" and the former ended up as promotional release on April 23, 2013. "Eu Sou Assim" was included in the soundtrack of the primetime telenovela Em Família.[7][2] Singles"Meiga e Abusada" was first released on July 6, 2012 as digital download. The video of the song, which includes co-stars Mayra Cardi (a former participant of Big Brother Brasil), was released on YouTube on December 18, 2012, but the song had a single release almost two months later. Cardi appears dressed as a sexy maid, serving dinner to the "boss" and his family. The scenes show Anitta embodying a Katy Perry style, and were recorded in a studio in Botafogo, south zone of Rio de Janeiro, and was directed by Blake Farber, who also directed Beyoncé videos.[8] The first part of the video was filmed in Las Vegas and in New York City. In the video, Anitta is seen in a Casino in Las Vegas, but at the time she was only 19 years old and the minimum age to enter a casino is 21.[9][2] "Show das Poderosas" was released on April 16, 2013 and became Anitta's breakthrough hit. The song has reached over 130 million views and has sold over 50,000 digital copies only in Brazil. The lyric video was released on July 5, 2013. The music video had already been recorded months before its release as a single and was finished in the same week of release. Anitta holds total songwriting credits.[10][11][1] "Não Para" was released on July 2, 2013 as the third single, and replaced "Show das Poderosas" on iTunes top spot.[1] It debuted at #6 on the Brazilian Digital Songs chart with 690 units sold. The official video for the song was released on the TV program Fantástico on July 7, 2013. On July 5, 2013, a lyric video was released.[12] "Zen" was released on November 4, 2013, it was written by Anitta and Umberto Tavares Junior and additional songwriters. Its recording took place in July 2013 in Brazil, at the Biscoito Fino studios. It was released as a single and promoted on Brazilian radios. In 2014, it was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Brazilian Song.[13][2] Promotional singles"Proposta" was released on January 16, 2012. "Menina Má" was released on February 16, 2012 as a b-side for "Show das Poderosas". "Tá na Mira": was released on April 23, 2013. An EP with the same title, containing songs like "Meiga e Abusada" plus exclusive songs, was released seven days later.[2][1] Critical reception{{Album ratings| rev1 = Audiograma | rev1Score = {{Rating|6|10|score=5.8/10 stars}}[27] | rev2 = Fita Bruta | rev2Score = {{Rating|2|5}}[28] | rev3 = G1 | rev3Score = Positive[29] | rev4 = ItPOP | rev4Score = {{Rating|2|5}}[30] | rev5 = Notas Musicais | rev5Score = {{Rating|1.5|5}}[31] | rev6 = Que Delícia Né, Gente? | rev6Score = {{Rating|6.5|10}} | rev7 = Verbloose | rev7Score = {{Rating|6.5|10}} }} After the release of Anitta, he was received with mixed criticism from music critics.[14] John Pereira, from Audiogram, said the album is a clichelete pop album, but, that's not a bad thing. For him, the album refers to the first works of Brazilian singer Kelly Key. Pereira says that "not liking what [Anitta] does is allowed, but denying that it has achieved something that few have achieved in the Brazilian pop scene may be too much."[15] Yuri de Castro, of the Fita Bruta, also compares Anitta to Kelly Key and Preta Gil, calling it "futile", because the singer "behaves and pretends not to." She is conservative and does not even know she is. In the worst sense of the word."[16] For Braulio Lorentz, of the G1 site, says that in her first album, Anitta, tries to "show that goes beyond the turn that made her to be contracted by a great record company, to inflate its cache and to beat several Brazilian singers".[29] For Lorentz, the tracks of the project are "sticky and whistling", and that Anitta wants to "embrace the pop of Beyoncé (who is always called a fan), Katy Perry (reference declared for the video of "Meiga e Abusada") and singers Brazilians today more distant from the studios, like Kelly Key."[17] Guilherme Tintel for ItPOP, said the album is a compilation of samples of Beyoncé's songs and that the album abuses easy verses and features retention of funk beats. He added: "His vocal talent is very limited, now that he does one show after another he has lost many points in the" stage presence "category - almost always saved by the dancers, besides the good old prerecorded base - and as we said previously, because of the rush to take advantage of his first great success all that the record company did was to launch an album full of similar songs, having good points here or there."[18] Mauro Ferreira, of the Notas Musicais site, said that Anitta loses its power in the album, in a project that sounds "repetitive and industrialized in excess."[31] Ferreira says the label "boasts" the number of sales, from a project that contains artificial pop tracks to explore the popularity of Anitta, obtained through its hit "Powerful Show." For the critic, the singer has more "pose than voice (small and opaque, say)," and calls her "Gretchen of the dances of the present time."[19] On the other hand, the website Que Delícia Né, Gente?, says that the first songs on the album are enough to "stick to your head, whether you like it or not."[40] But, that the project contains positive surprises like "Zen" and "Eu Sou Assim". However, the site closes the criticism saying that if "the intention of the record company was to average, he succeeded, but he scraped."[20] The site Verbloose says that Anitta has a "soft and gentle voice" that gives a personal touch to the songs. However, he warns that "there is still a long way to go" for Anitta to become a singer by name, because his album contains "silly, shallow and empty" lyrics, and says that his success is due to lack of competition in the Brazilian music market in relation to pop singers.[20] Track listing{{Track listing| headline = Anitta {{nobold|– Standard edition}} | extra_column = Producer(s) | total_length = 43:08 | title1 = Show das Poderosas | writer1 = Larissa Machado | length1 = 02:30 | extra1 = {{Flatlist |
