In 2014, Apartment List decided to change to the current ‘pay-per-move-in’ model to focus the experience on the renter. Apartment List has had three series of fundraising efforts.[9] In November 2013, Series A funding raised $23 million, with lead investor Matrix Partners.[10] Series B funding in November 2016 raised $30 million, with lead investor Canaan Partners,[11] and Series C funding raised $50 million with Passport Capital in November 2017.[12] The last round of funding is being used to increase the property listings in smaller buildings and single-family homes.[13] Apartment List's 4 million properties can be accessed either directly through the Apartment List site or on a mobile app.[14] In late 2017, Apartment List partnered with Facebook Marketplace,[15] Homes.com,[16] and Realtor.com.[17] The service is free for renters. Larger, professionally-managed properties are charged a variable fee.[18] By using a mixture of questions, manual filters, and photos and maps, the potential renter is provided customized search recommendations and is guided through the renting process.[19] The listings are based on these preferences and any changes in price are updated in real time.[20] Each listing that appears on Apartment List has been verified to ensure transparency and accuracy.[21] Landlords and building managers are connected to serious potential renters and they only pay a fee once a renter has moved into their new home.[22][23] The Apartment List Rentonomics blog publishes rent data studies for the entire United States, as well as specific local markets.[24] References1. ^[https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/299072 Why This 'Ruthlessly Prioritizing' Entrepreneur Says You Should Write Down One Goal Each Day] 2. ^[https://venturebeat.com/2018/01/18/property-rental-marketplace-apartment-list-raises-50-Million/ Home rental marketplace Apartment List raises $50 million] 3. ^[https://www.housingwire.com/articles/42023-realtorcom-picks-apartment-list-as-exclusive-provider-of-apartment-community-listings Realtor.com picks Apartment List as exclusive provider of apartment community listings] 4. ^[https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/18/apartment-list-raises-50-Million-for-home-rentals/ Apartment List raises $50 million for home rentals] 5. ^{{Citation|title=Overview of Ext GWT and GWT|date=2009|url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4302-1941-5_1|work=Developing with Ext GWT|pages=1–7|publisher=Apress|isbn=9781430219408|access-date=2019-03-07}} 6. ^[https://techcrunch.com/2011/09/12/apartmentlist-launches-recommendation-engine-to-match-you-with-the-right-apartment/ TechCrunch Disrupt] 7. ^[https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20180118005377/en/Apartment-List-Secures-50-Million-Series-Funding Apartment List Secures $50 million Series C Funding To Take Over U.S. Rental Market] 8. ^[https://mixergy.com/interviews/john-kobs-apartmentlist-interview/ ApartmentList: $10M In Revenue After Only Four Years?] 9. ^[https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/apartmentlist#section-locked-marketplace Crunchbase] 10. ^[https://techcrunch.com/2016/11/03/apartment-list-raises-30-Million-to-find-you-a-home/ Apartment List raises $30 million to find you a home] 11. ^[https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/apartmentlist#section-locked-marketplace Crunchbase] 12. ^[https://therealdeal.com/2018/01/18/apartment-list-raises-50m-in-series-c-round/ Apartment List raises $50M in Series C round] 13. ^[https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20180118005377/en/Apartment-List-Secures-50-Million-Series-Funding Apartment List Secures $50 million Series C Funding To Take Over U.S. Rental Market. 14. ^[https://www.apartmentlist.com/how-it-works ApartmentList] 15. ^[https://techcrunch.com/2017/11/09/facebook-expands-its-marketplace-section-with-housing-rentals/ Facebook expands its Marketplace section with housing rentals] 16. ^[https://www.inman.com/2017/09/26/homes-com-now-features-rentals-from-apartment-list Homes.com now features rentals from Apartment List] 17. ^[https://cheddar.com/videos/apartment-list-teams-up-with-realtor-com Cheddar] 18. ^[https://www.xconomy.com/san-francisco/2014/04/29/apartment-list-takes-the-pain-out-of-finding-a-new-place/ Apartment List Takes the Pain out of Finding a New Place] 19. ^[https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/apartment-list-series-b-300357301.html Apartment List Series B] 20. ^[https://www.forbes.com/sites/bisnow/2018/01/19/costar-competitor-raises-50m-in-series-c-funding/#21e239db6a8f CoStar Competitor Raises $50M In Series C Funding] 21. ^[https://tech.co/apartment-list-seeks-to-reinvent-property-rentals-nationwide-2013-01Apartment List Seeks to Reinvent Property Rentals Nationwide] 22. ^Former Splash winner Apartment List raises $30M 23. ^{{Citation|title=Overview of Ext GWT and GWT|date=2009|url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4302-1941-5_1|work=Developing with Ext GWT|pages=1–7|publisher=Apress|isbn=9781430219408|access-date=2019-03-07}} 24. ^[https://www.apartmentlist.com/rentonomics/rental-data/ Apartment Rental Data] 6 : 2011 establishments in California|Companies based in San Francisco|Companies established in 2011|Hospitality companies of the United States|Hospitality services|Online companies |
