This species grows to a length of {{convert|23|cm|in}} TL. This species is the only known member of its genus. It is a small velvetfish with a long slender body, a long-based dorsal fin, high at the front and extending from above the eyes to the base of the tail. Brownish to purple in colour with blackish spots and white marbling.[1] References
