Argentina–Bangladesh relations refer to the bilateral relations between Argentina and Bangladesh. DiplomacyBangladesh opened a diplomatic mission in Argentina in the 1970s, but it has since been closed.[1] In 2008, Ernesto Carlos Alvarez was appointed as Argentine Ambassador to Bangladesh.[2] In 2011, former foreign secretary of Bangladesh Mohamed Mijarul Quayes paid an official visit to Buenos Aires.[2] Trade and economic relationsBangladesh and Argentina have shown interest in expanding the bilateral economic activities between the two countries.[3] Bangladeshi ships, pharmaceuticals, ready made garments,[4] melamine and ceramics[5] have been identified as products with huge potential in the Argentinian market.[6] There is a good demand in Argentina for Bangladeshi ceramics with FARR Ceramics being a major Bangladeshi ceramics exporter to Argentina.[7] Exports of soybean oil from Argentina to Bangladesh are expanding.[8] Other cooperationsArgentina has shown interests to conduct Spanish-language course for Bangladeshi officials.
