}}Arthur Cleghorn (1 December 1873 – 27 May 1951) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL).[1] In the first year of competition, 1897, he became one of the club's and league's first premiership players. Cleghorn made his debut against {{AFL Gee}} in round 1 of the season at Corio Oval. He topped the club's goalkicking tally in 1899. He was also a member of Richmond's 1905 Victorian Football Association (VFA) premiership team.[2] He died in hospital three weeks after being struck by a car in May 1951.[3] References1. ^{{Ref AFL Encyc|10th|157}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=CLEGHORN, Arthur |url=http://www.essendonfc.com.au/team/player-past.asp?id=159#profile |work=Essendon FC |accessdate=12 September 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120424115412/http://www.essendonfc.com.au/team/player-past.asp?id=159 |archivedate=24 April 2012 |df=dmy }} 3. ^{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article209821779 |title=ROADS TOOK HIGH TOLL AT WEEK END |newspaper=The Age |location=Victoria, Australia |date=28 May 1951 |page=3}} External links{{Commons category}}
