Clark was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 1990. In January 2008, he committed to the United States Air Force Academy after receiving a football scholarship.[1][2] He had been a quarterback in high school and was converted to a tailback at Air Force.[3][4] He gained 588 rushing yards as a freshman in 2008,[5] 865 yards as a sophomore in 2009,[5] and 1,031 yards as a junior in 2010.[5][6][7] During the 2011 season, Clark totaled 1,110 rushing yards on 163 carries for an average of 6.8 yards per carry.[8][9] By the end of the 2011 season, Clark ranked as the second leading rusher in Air Force Academy history.[10][11] He was removed from the Air Force Academy in May 2012, less than one week before he was due to graduate.[12][13][14][15][16] References1. ^{{cite news|title=Clark tops list of Lions' commitments|newspaper=The Atlanta Journal-Constitution|date=January 24, 2008|url=}} 2. ^{{cite news|title=Lions' Clark commits to Air Force Academy|newspaper=Gwinnett Daily Post|date=January 25, 2008|url=}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Freshman Clark Right at Home in New Position|newspaper=The Gazette|date=October 26, 2008|url=}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Instant impact Freshman tailback Clark could get the start against UNLV|newspaper=The Denver Post|date=November 17, 2008|url=}} 5. ^{{cite news|title=Humble Clark Hits 1,000-Yard Milestone|newspaper=The Gazette|date=December 10, 2010|url=}} 6. ^{{cite news|title=Asher Clark's rare achievement|newspaper=The Gazette|date=November 23, 2010|url=}} 7. ^{{cite news|title=Air Force's Asher Clark having a record career|author=Irv Moss|newspaper=The Denver Post|date=September 24, 2011|url=http://www.denverpost.com/ci_18966085}} 8. ^1 2 {{cite web|title=Asher Clark |publisher=ESPN.com|url=http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/386288/asher-clark}} 9. ^{{cite news|title=Air Force's Asher Clark dances through superb senior season: Halfback averaging 9.3 yards per carry|date=October 6, 2011|author=David Ramsey|newspaper=The Gazette|url=http://www.gazette.com/sports/ramsey-126194-clark-force.html}} 10. ^{{cite news|title=Air Force's Asher Clark having a record career|author=Irv Moss |newspaper=The Denver Post|date=September 24, 2011|url=http://www.denverpost.com/ci_18966085}} 11. ^{{cite news|title=Offensive linemen excited for Clark's chase for AFA's rushing record|newspaper=The Gazette|date=November 21, 2011 |author=Frank Schwab|url=https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-30139505.html|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160911140145/https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-30139505.html|dead-url=yes|archive-date=September 11, 2016}} 12. ^{{cite news|title=Asher Clark removed from Air Force as part of drug investigation, sources say|date=May 19, 2012|author=Frank Schwab|newspaper=The Colorado Springs Gazette|url=http://www.gazette.com/articles/removed-138831-clark-academy.html#ixzz1vNchIA5r.http://www.gazette.com/articles/removed-138831-clark-academy.html}} 13. ^{{cite news|author=David Ramsey|title=A loving father stands beside Asher Clark|newspaper=The Gazette|date=May 20, 2012|url=http://www.gazette.com/articles/fair-138920-stands-father.html}} 14. ^{{cite news|title=Asher Clark's father calls Air Force dismissal a "travesty"|author=Irv Moss|newspaper=Denver Post|date=May 24, 2012|url=http://www.denverpost.com/colleges/ci_20695248/asher-clarks-father-calls-afa-dismissal-travesty}} 15. ^{{cite news|title=Air Force RB Asher Clark dismissed from academy|publisher=Associated Press|date=May 19, 2012|url=https://sports.yahoo.com/news/air-force-rb-asher-clark-173910238--ncaaf.html}} 16. ^{{cite news|title=Asher Clark kicked out|newspaper=ESPN.com|date=May 20, 2012|url=http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7949025/air-force-falcons-asher-clark-kicked-academy-amid-drug-probe}} External links
