The B3306, also known as the West Cornwall Coast Road, is a major road of southwestern Cornwall. It connects St Ives in the east to St Just in the west, and eventually joins the A30 road to the northeast of Sennen in the southwest of the Penwith peninsula. This thirteen-mile road is often voted one of the greatest driving roads in the United Kingdom for its scenery, with most of the road having views both across the Bristol Channel to the north, and the Cornish Moorland to the south.[1] It hugs the coastline for a great proportion of its length. Description{{multiple image The road begins in the town of St Ives, adjacent to St Ives Library, on the junction with the A3074 road at {{coord|50|12|41|N|5|28|51|W|}}. In St Ives it is initially known as "Gabriel Street" and then "The Stennack" and "Higher Stennack". The road ends at the junction with the A30 road at {{coord|50|5|15|N|5|40|13|W|}}, outside St Just. Notable settlements it passes through (from St Ives to the southwest) include Zennor, Boswednack, Treen, Porthmeor, Morvah, Bojewyan, Pendeen, Trewellard, Carnyorth, Botallack, Kenidjack, St Just, Bosavern and Kelynack.[2] The bridge near St Just, dated to the early 19th century, became a Grade II listed building on 21 September 1973.[3] A number of notable early Bronze Age or Neolithic sites lie alongside or immediately off this road, including Zennor Quoit, Sperris Quoit, Chûn Quoit and Lanyon Quoit.[4] The road is tight and twisting, and challenging to drivers.{{fact|date=May 2017}} In early 2009, after heavy rain and flooding near Zennor, the road was closed at Chykembro Culvert because of flood damage to its foundations.[5] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.greatestdrivingroads.com/great_roads/B3306.html|title=B3306|publisher=Greatestdrivingroads.com|accessdate=20 April 2012}} 2. ^{{cite map|title= Maps|publisher=Google Maps}}, ([https://maps.google.com/maps/place?ftid=0x486ac3d3e3e89cbb:0xb10a9a80d89c9dfc&q=B3306,+Saint+Ives,+United+Kingdom&hl=en&ved=0CAw B3306 road]) 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-69193-bridge-under-b3306-road-st-just|title=Bridge Under B3306 Road, St Just|publisher=British Listed Buildings|accessdate=20 April 2012}} 4. ^The following references apply to these ancient sites along the B3306 road* Lanyon Quoit, Zennor Quoit and Chûn Quoit: {{cite book|last=Andrews|first=Robert|title=The Rough Guide to Devon & Cornwall|url=|year=2007|publisher=Rough Guides|pages=286–289}}* Lanyon Quoit and Zennor Quoit: {{cite book|last=Thomas|first=Nicholas|title=A guide to prehistoric England|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=rOGBAAAAMAAJ|accessdate=20 April 2012|year=1976|publisher=Batsford|pages=49–51}}* Lanyon Quoit and Zennor Quoit: {{cite book|last=Olson|first=Donald|title=England For Dummies|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=yMaQaBA8iAsC&pg=PA306|accessdate=20 April 2012|date=27 February 2006|publisher=John Wiley & Sons|isbn=978-0-471-74871-7|page=306}}* Chûn Quoit: {{cite book|last=Dyer|first=James|title=Discovering Prehistoric England|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=fDTecByGtiYC&pg=PA28&lpg=PA28&dq=%22chun+quoit%22+%22b3306%22&source=bl&ots=_1No-lQxar&sig=A3Z2wXOaWxXi5qS2p4BLLoGcsmA&hl=en&sa=X&ei=_ESkT_PgHZGa8gTdgbWkAw&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=%22chun%20quoit%22%20%22b3306%22&f=false|accessdate=5 May 2012|year=1993|publisher=Osprey Publishing|page=28}}* Zennor Quoit and Sperris Quoit—the book states "Sperris Quoit, 400yds ENE of Zennor Quoit.": {{cite book|last1=Pevsner|first1=Nikolaus|last2=Radcliffe|first2=Enid|title=Cornwall, second edition|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=UM0-sA-XijcC&pg=PA242#v=onepage&q=sperris&f=false|accessdate=5 May 2012|year=1970|publisher=Yale University Press|page=242}} 5. ^Cornwall Council, Emergency Road Closures, retrieved 22 April 2012 External links
