It is native to northern Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas)[2] and the southwestern and south-central United States (Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas).[2][3]Baccharis neglecta is a shrub occasionally reaching a height of {{convert|450|cm|ft|abbr=on}}. The narrow, evergreen leaves that are up to {{convert|7.5|cm|in|abbr=on}} long. Male and female flowers grow separate plants. Females are distinctive in that the flowers consist of small silky, greenish white heads. The plants are arranged in large clusters up to {{convert|1|ft}} or more long and {{convert|20|cm|in|abbr=on}} wide.
