Barguzin lies at an elevation of {{convert|491|m|sp=us}} and is {{convert|240|km|sp=us}} from Ulan-Ude. Population: {{ru-census|p2010=5,702|p2002=6,164|p1989=6,151}} TransportationThe P438 road leads southwest to the selo of Adamovo, the urban-type settlement of Ust-Barguzin, and eventually to Ulan-Ude; it leads northeast along the Barguzin Valley to Ulyun and Kurumkan. Barguzin is served by the Barguzin Airport.[2] ClimateBarguzin has a subarctic climate (Köppen climate classification Dwc), with severely cold winters and warm summers.
