The game was one of six that required Bandai's {{nihongo|Datach|データック}} System in order to operate. GameplayThe player has to build his own combat robot to use in a fighting tournament. These robots are built in factories that assign the robot a name in addition to installing its head, body, shoulder, and feet. The player has a pre-game lobby to get ready for the robot combat action. All matches have rounds of 60 seconds (unlike the 99-second round of most modern fighting video games). Both robots have a separate gauge for energy and damage. Standard punches and kicks can be thrown in addition to special moves (which look like ammunition). ReceptionOn release, Famicom Tsūshin scored the game a 16 out of 40.[3] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web | url = http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/570731-battle-rush-build-up-robot-tournament/data| title = Release information | publisher = GameFAQs| date = | accessdate = 2011-04-12}} {{action-videogame-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://superfamicom.org/famicom/info/datach-battle-rush-build-up-robot-tournament/ |title=Japanese-English translation |publisher=Superfamicom.org |date= |accessdate=2011-04-12 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120503114415/http://superfamicom.org/famicom/info/datach-battle-rush-build-up-robot-tournament |archivedate=2012-05-03 |df= }} 3. ^NEW GAMES CROSS REVIEW: バトルラッシュ.
