The main section dates to the late-18th or early-19th century, and is a two-story, Federal style frame dwelling. It has later additions of a one-story front porch, a two-story rear wing, and a one-story east side wing. The house was remodeled about 1840 in an approximation of Andrew Jackson Downing's "cottage" style.[2] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places in North Carolina}}{{DavidsonCountyNC-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{Cite web | author = Ruth Little | title =Beallmont| work = National Register of Historic Places - Nomination and Inventory | date = February 1983 | url = http://www.hpo.ncdcr.gov/nr/DV0007.pdf | format = pdf | publisher = North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office | accessdate = 2014-10-01}} 4 : Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in North Carolina|Federal architecture in North Carolina|Houses in Davidson County, North Carolina|National Register of Historic Places in Davidson County, North Carolina |
