It was built between 1917 and 1921, and is a three-story, brick Late Gothic Revival style church. It features a tall bell tower, complex roof form, steeply-pitched gables and parapets, large pointed arch windows, crenellated corner towers, buttresses, cast-concrete quatrefoils and other detailing.[3] "Observe especially the expanding auditorium. Main auditorium seats 440; Parlour adjoining, 75; Adult Assembly room, 260; Gallery 225; grand total in sight and hearing of the pulpit, 1,000."[4] In one notice from 1917, H. L. Cain is named the architect of the church building, and the cost of the building was initially budgeted for $50,000.00.[5] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Virginia Landmarks Register|url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/register_counties_cities.htm|publisher=Virginia Department of Historic Resources|accessdate=19 March 2013}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/listings/20110826.htm|title=National Register of Historic Places Listings|date=2011-08-26|work=Weekly List of Actions Taken on Properties |publisher=National Park Service}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/Cities/Roanoke/128-6271_Belmont_Methodist_Church_2011_NR_FINAL.pdf|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Belmont Methodist-Episcopal Church |author= Michael J.
