Big Cedar is an unincorporated community in Le Flore County, Oklahoma, in the United States. It is the Eastern end of the Ouachita National Forest Road. HistoryBig Cedar was named from the cedar trees in the vicinity. The first post office at Big Cedar opened in 1903.[1]{{Self-published inline|certain=yes|date=December 2017}} President John F. Kennedy made an appearance in Big Cedar on October 29, 1961, to dedicate the opening of the Ouachita National Forest Road.
