The town has history of 365 temples and wells. Biskohar is situated 200 km from the State's Capital City Lucknow.Currently, Dr. Satish Chandra Dwivedi is the Member of the Legislative Assembly. There is One Parliamentary Constituency named Domariaganj and five Assembly constituencies in the district namely Domariaganj, Itwa, Shoratgarh, Naugarh and Bansi. Biskohar comes under Itwa Assembly Constituency. Member of Legislative Assembly of the Itwa constituencies is: Dr. Satish Chandra Dwivedi MLA and Member of Parliament is Shri Jagdambika Pal [MP] from Bharatiya Janata Party. Well-known Hindi scholar and writer Dr. Vishwanath Tripathi was born in February 1931 in Biskohar village in UP, Dr Vishwanath Tripathi obtained his graduate and post-graduate degrees from the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. Also he has written one book based on Biskohar about his childhood memory in Hindi "Nangatalai Ka Gaon" (Nanga Talai's Village)
