He collected the type series and described the species.[1] DistributionC. deborae is known from only one location in Fiji. Found amongst deep sea pinnacles it was originally thought to be a subspecies of the much wider ranging C. nox until genetic analysis at the National Taiwan University showed enough difference for this to be proven otherwise. DescriptionC. deborae is a deep blue fish with a blue/black eye. Its coloration may not be directly visible unless it is kept in a very well lit environment.
