}}Robert Damian "Bob" Bergeron (born November 7, 1961) is a former American football placekicker. He grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended Bishop Luers High School.[1] He played college football for the University of Michigan from 1980 to 1984.[1] He was a non-scholarship player who made the Michigan Wolverines football team as a walk-on.[2][3][4] From 1980 to 1982, Bergeron saw limited playing time as a backup to Ali Haji-Sheikh.[5] As a junior in 1983, he successfully converted 31 of 34 extra point conversions and 15 of 17 field goal attempts,[5][6] including a game-winning 45-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining against Iowa.[7] He was selected by the Associated Press as the first-team placekicker on the 1983 All-Big Ten Conference football team.[8] As a senior in 1984, he was successful on 13 of 16 field goal attempts, including four of five attempts against Illinois.[9] References1. ^1 {{cite web|title=Michigan Football Roster Database|publisher=University of Michigan, Bentley Historical Library|accessdate=March 19, 2015|url=http://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/rosters/football.php}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Bergeron, Bob}}2. ^{{cite news|title=Bergeron's kicking is for nothing|author=George Vecsey|newspaper=The Spokesman-Review|date=October 24, 1983|page=17|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1314&dat=19831024&id=tVdWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=5u4DAAAAIBAJ&pg=5293,5163246&hl=en}} 3. ^{{cite news|author=John Gugger|title=Bergeron Antes $35,000 For Chance To Kick For UM|newspaper=Toledo Blade|date=January 1, 1984|page=|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1350&dat=19840101&id=NUBPAAAAIBAJ&sjid=ywIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5205,255612&hl=en}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Bergeron Successful But Has To Pay His Own Way|author=John Gugger|newspaper=Toledo Blade|date=November 1, 1984|page=43|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1350&dat=19841101&id=_k9PAAAAIBAJ&sjid=wQIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6885,2059601&hl=en}} 5. ^1 {{cite news|title=Bergeron shows brilliance both on and off the field|newspaper=The Michigan Daily|date=September 19, 1984|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2706&dat=19840919&id=riRKAAAAIBAJ&sjid=fx4NAAAAIBAJ&pg=1722,965813&hl=en}} 6. ^{{cite news|title=Bergeron's kicking edge for Wolverines|author=Jimmy Smothers|newspaper=Gadsden Times|date=January 1, 1984|page=C1|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1891&dat=19840101&id=XhMpAAAAIBAJ&sjid=ItYEAAAAIBAJ&pg=3757,110085&hl=en}} 7. ^{{cite news|title=Bergeron almost missed opportunity to kick|newspaper=The Tuscaloosa News|date=October 23, 1983|page=8B|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1817&dat=19831023&id=xjYdAAAAIBAJ&sjid=t6UEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6733,5772949&hl=en}} 8. ^{{cite news|title=Illini Puts 6 On All-Big Ten Team|newspaper=Sarasota Herald-Tribune (AP story)|author=|date=December 1, 1983|page=15B|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1350&dat=19821130&id=rE5PAAAAIBAJ&sjid=vgIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6734,4951775}} 9. ^{{cite web |title=Michigan Football Statistic Archive Query Page |publisher=University of Michigan |url=http://stats.ath.umich.edu/football/footstart.php |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20071112175906/http://stats.ath.umich.edu/football/footstart.php |archivedate=2007-11-12 |df= }}(Bergeron's statistics can be retrieved by typing "bergeron" into the space provided for the player's last name.) 6 : 1961 births|Living people|American football placekickers|Michigan Wolverines football players|Players of American football from Indiana|Sportspeople from Fort Wayne, Indiana |
