Early historyBolingbroke Mansion was originally built in the early 18th century, about fifty years before American independence. The Spring House bears the inscription “1727”.[1]. The fieldstone from which it was constructed, some of which is still intact today, came from Colonial gristmills along Gulph Creek.[2] Later history and ownershipIn 1901, the property was purchased by Ledyard Heckscher. Two paintings painted by his wife still hang in the mansion's living room. The Heckscher's hired architect R. Brognard Okie to renovate, remodel, and enlarge the mansion.[3] In 1949, Bolingbroke was bought by Roy J. Mckee and his wife. Ten years later, St. Martin’s Episcopal Church acquired the property and grounds from the McKee's for their parish house.[3] Today, wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, parties, corporate meetings, and other events are held at Bolingbroke Mansion.[3] FacilitiesBolingbroke Mansion contains four reception rooms, one porch, a brick terrace, a few gardens, and a room for ceremonies.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.bolingbrokemansion.com|title=Bolingbroke Mansion|accessdate=8 February 2014}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/Resources/Weddings/index.php/name/Bolingbroke-Mansion/listing/25945/ |title=Bolingbroke Mansion - Radnor, PA |publisher=Mainlinetoday.com |date= |accessdate=2014-02-09}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=http://www.bolingbrokemansion.com/history.html|title=Bolingbroke Mansion history|accessdate=8 February 2014}} External links
