It is served by Sydney Trains T1 Northern Line services. HistoryPennant Hills station opened on 17 September 1886.[2] In the 1990s, the station received an upgrade being fitted with lifts. Immediately north of Pennant Hills, a short four track section of the Main Northern line begins which runs to the next station at Thornleigh.[3] As part of the North Sydney Freight Corridor project, an electrified passing loop was built behind the western platform where it joined the existing loop. As part of these works the western platform was converted to an island.[4][5][6][7] The new platform opened on 14 June 2016.[8] Platforms & services{{Sydney Trains platform box|p1linename = T1 |p1stop = to Central via Strathfield & beyond |p1notes = [9] |p2linename = T1 |p2stop = services to Hornsby |p2notes = [9] |p3linename = |p3stop = No booked passenger services |p3notes = }} TrackplanReferences1. ^{{cite web |author=Bureau of Transport Statistics |url=https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/media/documents/2017/Train%20Statistics%202014.pdf |title=Train Statistics 2014 |publisher=Transport NSW |accessdate=12 July 2018}} 2. ^Pennant Hills Station NSWrail.net 3. ^State Rail Authority Track Diagram, 1992 4. ^Epping to Thornleigh Third Track Transport for NSW 5. ^Leighton Contractors & TfNSW in Alliance to deliver Epping to Thornleigh Third Track Project Leighton Contractors 8 March 2013 6. ^[https://web.archive.org/web/20150103015622/http://www.railexpress.com.au/archive/2013/march-2013/march-20-2013/other-top-stories/leighton-and-abigroup-win-epping-to-thornleigh-third-track-contract Leighton & Abigroup win Epping to Thornleigh Third Track contract] Rail Express 20 March 2013 7. ^"Northern Sydney Freight Corridor Update" Railway Digest December 2014 pages 28-29 8. ^"Weekly Notice 21" Sydney Trains May 2016 page 5 9. ^1 {{Cite New South Wales transport timetables|Northern}} External links
