During employment testing, applicants are asked whether they like sex. Brothel owner Souness asserted these women like their work.[3] According to the BBC News Online, the escorts working at Bon Ton say they find the work environment respectful.[1] Bon Ton bills itself as "a boutique agency for a select clientele" and states that it intends "to provide a tasteful and discreet haven for gentlemen to enjoy the attentions of elegant, beautifully groomed, intelligent women".[4] The website of the brothel makes invitation calls to potential clients to come into what is described as a "safe and secret oasis where the outside world melts away".[5] The Bon Ton website publishes biographies of their prostitutes – whom they refer to as "courtesans" – which include their age and brassiere measurement. As per the requirement by the Prostitution Reform Act 2003, Bon Ton has a safe sex policy that requires customers to wear condoms.[6] One hour of service at Bon Ton costs 400 New Zealand dollars.[1][7] Two members of the United Kingdom-based Women's Institute (WI), who visited various brothels throughout the world to check their quality and were featured in a BBC documentary titled The WI And The Search For The Perfect Brothel, voted Bon Ton the world's best brothel.[8][9] References1. ^1 2 3 4 {{ cite news | title = Selling sex legally in New Zealand | url = http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7927461.stm | newspaper = BBC News Online | date = 17 March 2009 | access-date = 15 April 2012 }} 2. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.bonton.co.nz/ | title = Official Website of Bon Ton | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 3. ^1 2 3 {{cite journal | last1 = Jolliffe | first1 = Louise | date = Autumn 2009 | title = Thoroughly Modern Madam | journal = The Wellington Guide | issue = 24 | pages = 28–33 | publisher = | doi = | url = http://www.bonton.co.nz/images/article/Thoroughly_Modern_Madam.pdf | deadurl = yes | archiveurl = https://web.archive.org/web/20100526074551/http://www.bonton.co.nz/images/article/Thoroughly_Modern_Madam.pdf | archivedate = 2010-05-26 | df = }} 4. ^1 {{cite news |title= Brothel sues banker over bill | url = http://www.stuff.co.nz/157176/Brothel-sues-banker-over-bill | newspaper= Stuff.co.nz | date = 1 January 2009 | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 5. ^{{cite news | title = SHOULD PROSTITUTION BE LEGALISED? | author = Jane Warren | url = http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/281874/Should-prostitution-be-legalised-Should-prostitution-be-legalised--Should-prostitution-be-legalised--Should-prostitution-be-legalised- | newspaper = Daily Express | date = 5 November 2011 | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 6. ^{{cite news | title = Legalized brothels 'fantastic' for New Zealand, prostitutes say | author = Tracey Tyler | url = https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/868263 | newspaper = Toronto Star | date = 29 September 2010 | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 7. ^1 {{ cite news | title = School's cash went on sex and high living | url = http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/5972521/Schools-cash-went-on-sex-and-high-living | newspaper = The Dominion Post | date = 16 November 2011 | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 8. ^{{ cite news | title = Legal prostitution hot topic at Oxford debate | author = PAUL EASTON | url = http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/3351941/Legal-prostitution-hot-topic-at-Oxford-debate | newspaper = Stuff.co.nz | date = 20 February 2010 | access-date = 15 April 2012}} 9. ^{{ cite news | title = NZ brothels get thumbs up from UK grannies | author = | url = http://www.nzherald.co.nz/prostitution/news/article.cfm?c_id=612&objectid=10524269 | newspaper = The New Zealand Herald | date = 30 July 2008 | access-date = 14 April 2012}} External links
