}} An aging, long-in-the-tooth Dinner Club still functioning as a Bar, "Bookie's Club 870" (located at 870 West McNichols - aka. "6 Mile Rd." in Detroit, Michigan) came back to Life as a Local Detroit band (the Sillies, as mentioned below..) re-opened the Stage of this venue on a (for the moment) seemingly random schedule. 'The Sillies' members Scott Campbell & (Windsor, Ontario native) Vince Bannon added shows & events during these years, bolstering 'the scene'. Club Owner, *Bookie* Stewart was more than obliging for these added activities; for his revenues rose "in tandem" with the new attendances. Bookie's was Detroit's first and, for a while, only concert club for alternative/Punk rock bands. Bands which "played" "Bookie's Club 870" (.. and would go on to become well-known) include The POLICE, The ROMANTICS, JOHN CALE, ULTRAVOX, The SILLIES,The DEAD BOYS, and The DAMNED[1].
