It is an erect, multi-branched shrub with pinnate leaves and pink flowers arranged in small groups in the leaf axils. DescriptionBoronia fraseri is an erect many-branched shrub that grows to a height of about {{convert|2|m|ft|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} with four-angled, mostly hairless branches. The leaves are pinnate, {{convert|40-125|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|35-70|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide in outline on a petiole {{convert|8-30|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} long. There are between three and seven elliptic leaflets. The end leaflet is {{convert|25-63|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|8-16|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide and the side leaflets are {{convert|14-40|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|3-13|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide. Between three and seven pink flowers are arranged on a stalk {{convert|3-15|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long. The four sepals are egg-shaped to triangular, densely hairy on the back, {{convert|2.5-3|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|1-2|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} wide. The four petals are {{convert|6-10|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long, {{convert|4-5|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} wide and hairy on the back. The eight stamens alternate in length with those opposite the petals shorter than those near the sepals. Flowering occurs from July to October and the fruit are {{convert|4-5|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|2.5-3|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} wide.[1][2][3][4][5]Taxonomy and namingBoronia fraseri was first formally described by William Jackson Hooker in 1843 and the description was published in The Botanical Magazine.[6] The specific epithet (fraseri) honours Charles Fraser, the first superindentent of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.[1]Distribution and habitatUnlike many Boronia plants, Fraser's boronia prefers moist gullies and rainforest areas, on soils based on sandstone and is found mainly in the Sydney region but also occurs in the Blue Mountains.[3] ConservationFraser's boronia is rare plant, with a ROTAP rating of 2RCa.[1] Use in horticultureWell drained soils with part shade are advised for cultivation. Boronia "Telopea Valley Star" is a hybrid between this species and Boronia mollis, which is hardier and has been grown in Australian gardens.[1] References1. ^1 2 3 4 {{cite web|author=Walters, Brian|work=Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) website |title=Boronia fraseri|date=February 2010|url=http://anpsa.org.au/b-fra.html|accessdate=31 March 2011}} 2. ^Les Robinson - Field Guide to the Native Plants of Sydney, {{ISBN|978-0-7318-1211-0}} page 115 3. ^1 {{cite journal |last1=Duretto |first1=Marco F. |title=Systematics of Boronia section Valvatae sensu lato (Rutaceae) |journal=Muelleria |date=1999 |volume=12 |issue=1 |pages=51–52 |url=https://www.rbg.vic.gov.au/documents/Pages_from_Muelleria_12(1),_p47-86,_Duretto,_Sytematics_Boronia-2.pdf |accessdate=14 March 2019}} 4. ^{{cite web |last1=Weston |first1=Peter H. |last2=Duretto |first2=Marco F. |title=Boronia fraseri |url=http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Boronia~fraseri |publisher=Royal Botanic Garden Sydney |accessdate=14 March 2019}} 5. ^{{cite web |last1=Duretto |first1=Marco F. |last2=Wilson |first2=Paul G. |last3=Ladiges |first3=Pauline Y. |title=Boronia fraseri |url=https://profiles.ala.org.au/opus/foa/profile/Boronia%20fraseri |publisher=Australian Biological Resources Study, Department of the Environment and Energy, Canberra |accessdate=14 March 2019}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Boronia fraseri|url= https://id.biodiversity.org.au/instance/apni/464768|publisher=APNI|accessdate=14 March 2019}} External links
