From Lisnaskea, he played for Lisnaskea Emmetts. In June 2012, he played in the half-forward line in the quarter-final of the Ulster Senior Football Championship at Brewster Park, a defeat to Down.[1] In January 2012, he played in the Dr. McKenna Cup, and also played in four matches in the National Football League.[2] Described as a "superstar" footballer,[3] Maguire captained Lisnaskea Emmetts to the 2011 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship.[1][4] He also played for Lisnaskea Emmetts as they reached the Fermanagh Senior Football Championship Final due to be played on 29 September 2012.[5] However, on 13 September 2012, Maguire was involved in an industrial accident at the Quinn Prestress factory, in the Ballyconnell Road area of Derrylin where he later died.[6] Tributes came from all sides of the community.[1] His father is Brian, his mother is Eileen, and his two sisters are Roisin and Eimear.[7] References1. ^1 2 {{cite news|first=Michael|last=McHugh|url=http://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-football/fermanagh-in-shock-at-death-of-gaa-player-brian-og-maguire-3228676.html|title=Fermanagh in shock at death of GAA player Brian Og Maguire|newspaper=Irish Independent|publisher=Independent News & Media|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Maguire, Brian}}2. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-19589916#|title=Brian Og Maguire dies in industrial accident in Fermanagh|work=BBC News|publisher=BBC|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} 3. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.u.tv/News/Fermanagh-GAA-death-in-work-accident/9ae9189e-b9d5-406f-8c7d-f7a146b26e70|archive-url=https://archive.is/20130419010926/http://www.u.tv/News/Fermanagh-GAA-death-in-work-accident/9ae9189e-b9d5-406f-8c7d-f7a146b26e70|dead-url=yes|archive-date=19 April 2013|title=Fermanagh GAA ‘superstar’ Maguire dies|work=UTV|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} 4. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.joe.ie/gaa/gaa-news/tragedy-strikes-fermanagh-gaa-0028330-1|title=Tragedy strikes Fermanagh GAA|work=JOE.ie|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} 5. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.thescore.ie/fermanagh-gaa-shocked-by-sudden-death-of-county-player-brian-og-maguire-594087-Sep2012/ |title=Fermanagh GAA shocked by death of county player Brian Óg Maguire |work=The Score |date=13 September 2012 |accessdate=13 September 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120915231438/http://www.thescore.ie/fermanagh-gaa-shocked-by-sudden-death-of-county-player-brian-og-maguire-594087-Sep2012/ |archivedate=15 September 2012 |df= }} 6. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0913/brian-og-maguire-fermanagh.html|title=Fermanagh footballer killed in industrial accident|work=RTÉ News|publisher=RTÉ|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} 7. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.newstalk.ie/2012/sport/fermanagh-gaa-county-player-killed-in-work-accident/|title=Fermanagh GAA county player killed in work accident|work=Newstalk|date=13 September 2012|accessdate=13 September 2012}} 4 : 1987 births|2012 deaths|Fermanagh inter-county Gaelic footballers|People from Lisnaskea |
