This band was formed in the 1998 year and had some success story with semi-final place in the Global Battle of the Bands contest in 2007 year and participations in numerous other music festivals.[12] There was a band, which played over 10 years on the indie-rock and power-pop Belarusian scene with mostly English language songs.[13] They released one full length album Gentleman in 2012 and a lot of singles and EPs during all times.[14][15] Since the latest LP release Hair Peace Salon was for the most part inactive on the music stage, and in the 2013 year its frontman Aleh Vial decided to keep make music by himself further. He paused the Hair Peace Salon music chapter due inactivity to write songs in a new project.[16][17] Hair Peace Salon's drummer Alex Stepanovich got along with Aleh Vial's aspirations and they both founded Bristeil.[2] HistoryAt the end of 2013 two other members joined to Bristeil: bass player Gena Lukashanets and lead guitarist Max Bykau.[2] So, the classical rock band lineup banded together. On 2 December 2013 the band released the very first single Heta Mahčyma (“It’s Possible” into English) on Soundcloud that became a part of their future debut EP.[18][17] There was its first music release, and with help of which Bristeil announced a new Belarusian maxi-single that will be coming out in the spring of 2014.[19] The debut EP Cyruĺnia Svietu was released on 26 May 2014.[6] Bristeil wrote four tracks for this EP, two of which were covers: one was a Belarusian rock version of Lana Del Rey's hit record "Video Games”, one was Hair Peace Salon's song from the album Gentleman “Out of Time" sung and played in the native language afresh as "Pa-za Časam".[20][21] The release was received well by music critics: “There are depth in the lyrics and the delicacy of the feed. Each of the four tracks deserves attention and, of course, heavy airplay” (Tuzin.fm).[22] It denoted the end of the previous music phase and the birth of a new music context of the band, marking the beginning of the work on the upcoming album.[23][24] On 21 September 2014 Bristeil released their first video single on the new song “Muzyka Hučyć” (“Music Sounds” into English).[25][26] Early on October this video was rereleased into the main version.[27] Bristeil made this music video based on the live recording session footage of the composition “Unfinished Song” written for Tricky’s contest,[28][29][30] which its frontman Aleh Vial won with his version of the song a year ago with a prize to sing this song with him together on the stage.[31][32][33] The music activities of the band in 2014 helped the musicians to receive the "Opening of the Year" nomination by the biggest Belarusian music portal Tuzin.fm.[34][35][36] The “Heroes of the Year” awards show was held on 12 December 2014, and Bristeil had been announced in the line-up and planning to perform there,[37] but at the very last moment before their performance bassist Gena Lukashanets injured his playing finger. So, the band not performed at the concert of the winners but was there and met with their fans at the awards ceremony venue.[38] In fall 2014 the media said that the band is working on new songs,[26][25] but apparently the main songwriting focus of musicians has been shifted towards their new side projects Helaiv[1][7][8][9][39] and Maks&Lera.[5] Nevertheless earlier on 2015 Bristeil opened the official website.[40] The latest music piece from the band was presented on 9 September, 2015 in a short Vine clip.[41] StyleAs music journalists state, the sound of Bristeil reminds early years of indie-rock and power pop band Hair Peace Salon, headed by Aleh Vial too.[42] The name changeAt the same time when the first music video was released, the band changed its name spelling. The original band name "Bristol" was changed to "Bristeil".
