It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Indiana and West Virginia. The wingspan is about 8-8.5 mm. The forewings are dull brown, except for the dull greyish basal dorsal area. The hindwings are fuscous. Adults have been recorded on wing in July. The larvae feed on Solidago species. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine is linear. Older larvae leave the mine and feed on the underside of the leaf.
