The shrub is distinguished by its combination of silvery grey - green foliage and fragrant terminal panicles 25 cm long, comprising violet-blue flowers with orange eyes.[4] Cultivation'Lochinch' is widely and commonly cultivated in the USA and Europe, notably the UK.
