HistoryFormationThe Cascade Conference was formed in 1954 with eight schools from the Jackson County Conference. The original members were: Brooklyn, Concord, East Jackson, Grass Lake, Jackson Vandercook Lake, Michigan Center, Napoleon, Parma, and Springport high schools. Red and BlueWith the growth of suburbs, some Cascade Conference schools grew more rapidly than others. This led to the creation of the Red and Blue divisions. Between 1983 and 1996, four schools were listed as Cascade-Red Members: Jackson Lumen Christi, Jackson Northwest, Parma Jackson County Western and Brooklyn Columbia Central. In 1996, Jackson Northwest and Jackson Lumen Christi left the Cascade Red for the Capital-Circuit Conference.[1] Brooklyn Columbia Central left the Cascade Red after 1995 and competed as an independent for two years, before joining the Lenawee County Conference at the start of the 1997 school year.[2] Parma Jackson County Western left the Cascade Red after the 1995 school year and joined the Twin Valley Conference.[3] Membership timelineDateFormat= yyyy ImageSize= width:1000 height:auto barincrement:20 Period= from:1950 till:2014 TimeAxis= orientation:horizontal PlotArea= right:20 left:0 bottom:50 top:5 #> to display a count on left side of graph, use "left:20" to suppress the count, use "left:20"<# Colors= id:barcolor id:line value:pink id:bg value:white id:Full value:rgb(0.742,0.727,0.852) # Use this color to denote a team that is a member in all sports PlotData= bar:5 color:Full from:1954 till:1964 text:Grass Lake (1954-1964) bar:5 color:Full from:1976 till:end text: (1976-present) bar:6 color:Full from:1960 till:1965 text:Hanover-Horton High School (1960–1965) bar:6 color:Full from:1976 till:end text: (1976–present) bar:9 color:Full from:1954 till:1960 text:Brooklyn High School (1945–1960) bar:9 color:Full from:1968 till:1996 text:Brooklyn Columbia Central (1968-1996) bar:13 color:Full from:1960 till:1976 text:Jackson Northwest (1960–1976) bar:13 color:Full from:1983 till:1996 text: (1983–1996) bar:15 color:Full from:1961 till:1976 text:Parma Jackson Co.
