It was described by Foster Hendrickson Benjamin in 1938.[1] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from western Oregon and the Washington Cascade Range.[2] The habitat consists of coastal rainforests and mixed hardwood forests. The length of the forewings is 14–17 mm. The forewings are brassy brown gray, but lighter gray in the terminal area. The hindwings are dark brown gray with faint darker markings. Adults are on wing from late October to late November in one generation per year. The larvae probably feed on hardwood species.[3] References1. ^{{LepIndex |id=57743 |accessdate=May 19, 2018}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q13459238}}{{Thyatirinae-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=6244|publisher=Mississippi State University|website=Moth Photographers Group |title=850012 – 6244 – Ceranemota crumbi – Benjamin, 1938|accessdate=September 21, 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://pnwmoths.biol.wwu.edu/browse/family-drepanidae/subfamily-thyatirinae/ceranemota/ceranemota-crumbi/|publisher=Pacific Northwest Moths |title= Ceranemota crumbi Benjamin, 1938 |accessdate=September 21, 2017}} 2 : Moths described in 1938|Thyatirinae |
