The specific epithet {{lang|el|decandra}} is from the Greek meaning "ten male", referring to the flower having ten stamens.[4]DescriptionCeriops decandra grows as a shrub or small tree up to {{convert|15|m|-1}} tall with a trunk diameter of up to {{convert|30|cm|0|abbr=on}}. Its bark is pale brown. The flowers are white.
