Corrales was born in Mexico City and trained with his parents, Taina Morales and Jesus Corrales, both professional ballet dancers, before attending Canada's National Ballet School. He performed the title role in the musical Billy Elliot in Chicago and Toronto from 2010-2011. He danced with American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in 2014. That year, he won the Grand Prix Award and Artistry Award at the Youth America Grand Prix, and soon afterwards joined English National Ballet. He was promoted to Principal in 2017. His repertory with English National Ballet included Ali (Le Corsaire), Nephew (The Nutcracker), Mercutio (Nureyev's Romeo and Juliet), Albrecht (Giselle) Franz (Coppélia) and roles in Fantastic Beings, Le Jeune homme et la mort and In the middle, somewhat elevated. He created the role of Hilarion in Akram Khan's Giselle. His recent awards include 2016's Emerging Dancer Award and the 2017 National Dance Award for Outstanding Male Performance (Classical) for Le Corsaire. CareerCesar Corrales began his professional dancing career at age four when he appeared in a Royal Winnipeg Ballet production of Madama Butterfly. Corrales received a small dancing role in the 2004 film Shall We dance?.[1] In 2008 Corrales won first place for gymnastics at the Coupe Quebec. In the same year Corrales joined The National Ballet School of Canada.[2] After successfully auditioning for the part of Billy Elliot in 2009, Corrales began his run as Billy at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre in March 2010.[3][4] After the Chicago production closed in November 2010, Corrales was transferred to Toronto to begin the production there as Billy beginning February 1, 2011.[5] Corrales appeared in the part of Billy Elliot for the final time in the Sunday May 1, 2011 matinée performance at the Canon Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. Corrales' family is based in Montreal. In 2014, he danced with the American Ballet Theater Studio Company, winning the Grand Prix Award and Artistry Award at the Youth America Grand Prix, then joined the English National Ballet.
