It is a common plant, found in glades, fields, and disturbed areas.[3] It produces small white umbels of flowers in the spring. This species was the subject of a germination study, which revealed a new type of seed dormancy.[4] References1. ^{{citation|url=http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-2714327|title=The Plant List: A Working List of All Plant Species|accessdate=22 December 2015}} 2. ^Flora of the Southern and Mid-Atlantic States 3. ^Missouriplants 4. ^{{citation |jstor=2260948 |author=Jerry M.
