It is found on the island of São Tomé.[1][2] The habitat consists of forests and woodland. The species was named by James John Joicey and George Talbot in 1926.[1] DescriptionThe butterfly has black edges with two pointy edges on the bottom end, it has a white striped nearly in the middle, and the remainder is colored dark brown and is lighter on the bottom. It is measured 10 centimeters long. SubspeciesThe species is sometimes treated as a subspecies of Charaxes brutus.
