It was described by Hahn William Capps in 1963.[2] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. It is also found in the West Indies. The wingspan is about 24 mm for males and 25–28 mm for females. The forewings are gray with a slight reddish tint. Adults have been recorded on wing in February, from May to June, in August and October.
