PIA offers Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degrees in Aviation Maintenance Technology and Aviation Electronics Technology and diploma programs in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics has three branch campuses. The Youngstown-Warren Branch Campus is located at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna, Trumbull County, Ohio. The Hagerstown Branch Campus is located adjacent to the Hagerstown Regional Airport in Hagerstown, Maryland. The Myrtle Beach Branch Campus is located near the Myrtle Beach International Airport and International Technology and Aerospace Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Hagerstown and Youngstown Branch Campuses each offer a 16-month diploma program in Aviation Maintenance which, like the Aviation Maintenance degree program, qualifies graduates to test for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification. The Myrtle Beach Branch Campus certificate program can also be completed in approximately 16 months. This program also qualifies graduates to test for the FAA A&P Certification. Students have the opportunity to attend Horry-Georgetown Technical College in conjunction with PIA in order to earn an associate degree in Applied Science in addition to their A&P. PIA's aviation programs are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). PIA's short-term program division is marketed under the name PIA Jump Start, and includes training in Truck Driving (CDL) and Heavy Equipment Operation. These non-accredited, state licensed programs are designed to prepare graduates for new careers in as little as 4 weeks. PIA Jump Start programs are offered at training centers in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania; Clarksburg, West Virginia; Weirton, West Virginia and Dunbar, West Virginia. PIA is a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status.[1] The President and CEO is Suzanne Markle.
