}}Chitra is an Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema.[2][3][4] She has acted in more than 100 films.[5] She acted opposite Mohanlal in her first film Attakalasham.[6] She was nicknamed "Nallennai Chithra" because of the fame she attained with the advertisement of an oil company she had acted in.[1]

Personal life

She was born to Madhavan and Devi at Kochi on 1965. She has a younger sister, Divya. She studied at ICF Higher secondary school, Chennai. She studied till tenth grade and couldn't continue her studies since she became busy with movies by then.

She got engaged with film personality Yugi Sethu in early 90's. But unfortunately that marriage proposal did not materialize.

She is married to Vijayaraghavan on 1990. They have a daughter, Mahalakshmi. She retired from films after her marriage. She resides at chennai with family. She currently acts in Tamil serials[7]
