The original included the 1854 Leigh Street Baptist Church by architects Samuel Sloan with cast iron stairs by Asa Snyder[2] and the 1938 Art Deco style East End Theater by Henry Carl Messerschmidt (1891-1994).[3] Venable Street Baptist Church built by T. Wiley Davis in the 1880s was part of the added area. The added area also included the Venable Street Baptist Church built in 1891, designed by M. J. Dimmock, the Dean of Richmond Architecture and built by D. Wiley Davis and a hip-roofed Sunday school church addition to East End Baptist Church added by Herbert Levi Cain in 1919.[2] GalleryReferences1. ^{{cite web|title=Virginia Landmarks Register|url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/register_counties_cities.htm|publisher=Virginia Department of Historic Resources|accessdate=19 March 2013}} {{Richmond, Virginia neighborhoods}}{{National Register of Historic Places in Virginia}}{{RichmondCityVA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 2 3 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} 3. ^1 {{cite news |last=M |first=John|date=February 25, 2011|title=Under the Radar on 25th Street|url=https://chpn.net/2011/02/25/under-the-radar-on-25th-street/|work= Church Hill People's News|location=Richmond, Virginia|access-date=January 22, 2018}} 6 : Historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places in Virginia|Greek Revival architecture in Virginia|Italianate architecture in Virginia|National Register of Historic Places in Richmond, Virginia|Victorian architecture in Virginia|Buildings and structures in Richmond, Virginia |
