PrinciplesThe Civic Renovation Party is a political organization built by Dominican men and women with freedom of action, pacts and alliances, and with a strategic vision towards the consolidation of true democracy. Party SymbolsThe flag of the Civic Renovation Party is made up of 5 horizontal stripes: green symbolizes hope; yellow symbolizes justice and faith in democracy, and red. In the center is located the coat of arms which consists on a white hand holding a red flame, symbolizing the solidarity with the Dominican Nation. In the upper part of coat of arms are written the acronym of the Civic Renovation Party (Spanish: PCR) in navy blue. Underneath the coat of arms is the party’s motto: "Democracia, Justicia y Solidaridad" (Democracy, Justice, and Solidarity). The anthem of the PCR were written by its President, Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna, with the purpose of achieving society’s development and well-being regardless of the each person’s religion or beliefs. Current PresidentJorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna is the current President and founder of the Civic Renovation Party (PCR).[5] He is a follower of Juan Pablo Duarte, Gregorio Luperón, José Francisco Peña Gómez, and Juan Bosch. He bases the ideology of the Civic Renovation Party in “serving the country, the people, and every Dominican; rescuing our origins and defending full democracy”, with the strong conviction that “a country without education, food, health, home, or equality cannot fully develop”.[6]Progressive Renovator PactOn January 8, 2012, the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) represented by its President Leonel Fernández, its Secretary-General, Reinaldo Pared Pérez, and Danilo Medina, signed the Progressive Renovator Pact (Spanish: Pacto Progresista Renovador), represented by its President Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna and its Secretary-General Franklin White. With this pact, the Civic Renovation Party supported Danilo Medina’s candidacy (as President of the Dominican Republic) and Margarita Cedeño (as Vice-President) and was signed with the representatives of the Policital Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), of the National Campaign Committee, and the National Direction of the Civic Renovation Party (PCR).
