Fifteen people lost their lives, and at least 30 were seriously injured. DescriptionAt 18:19 on 9 December 1957, the Milan–Rome express, while travelling through Codogno at a speed of {{convert|130|km/h|abbr=on}}, struck a truck loaded with bran, which had been trapped by a level crossing it was unable to cross in time. The train then derailed and brought down a cast iron pylon. The accident caused the deaths of fifteen people, including several truck drivers, and injured over thirty others. References
