Nee worked in public policy advocacy and corporate communications for over 20 years. Among the companies Nee worked for were Bradlees,[1] the Logan Airport Hilton Hotel and Towers,[2] and Julie Country Day School.[3] From 1987 to 1993, Nee served as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve, rising to the rank of Corporal.[4][5] He served during Operation Desert Storm.[6] In 2008 Nee was named Undersecretary of Veterans’ Services. In this role he oversaw the creation of the Statewide Advocacy for Veterans’ Empowerment (SAVE) program, which supports veterans and their families coping with the stresses of returning from war and assist them in obtaining veteran's benefits and services. He also helped obtain over $1 million in federal funds to train and find employment for veterans. Additionally, he led outreach efforts to homeless, women, and disabled veterans.[6] On January 21, 2011 he was named Secretary of Veterans’ Services, succeeding Medal of Honor recipient Thomas G. Kelley.[7] References1. ^{{cite news|last=Hernandez, Jr.|first=Efrain|title=2 Area Chains Remove Water Guns|url=https://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/boston/access/6377361.html?FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT|accessdate=25 January 2012|newspaper=Boston Globe|date=Jun 9, 1992}} {{Deval Patrick cabinet}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Nee, Coleman}}2. ^{{cite news|last=Wallack|first=Todd|title=Pact settles complaints of bias at Logan hotel|url=https://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/bostonherald/access/57389205.html?dids=57389205:57389205&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT|accessdate=25 January 2012|newspaper=Boston Herald|date=August 18, 1999}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Julie Country Day School to close June 9|newspaper=Telegram & Gazette|date=February 17, 2006}} 4. ^{{cite news|last=Szaniszlo|first=Marie|title=A Veterans Day Birthday|newspaper=Boston Herald|date=November 11, 2006}} 5. ^{{cite news|last=Caywood|first=Thomas|title=Gulf War veterans divided on waging new campaign|url=https://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/bostonherald/access/281748121.html?dids=281748121:281748121&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT|accessdate=25 January 2012|newspaper=Boston Herald|date=January 29, 2003}} 6. ^1 {{cite web|title=Coleman Nee, Secretary of Veterans' Services|url=http://www.mass.gov/veterans/biowelcome%20coleman%20nee.html|work=The Official Website of the Department of Veterans' Services|publisher=Commonwealth of Massachusetts|accessdate=25 January 2012}} 7. ^{{cite news|last=White|first=Nancy|title=Coleman Nee to assume top veterans post on acting basis|url=http://www.wickedlocal.com/cohasset/features/x2026720659/Coleman-Nee-to-assume-top-veterans-post-on-acting-basis#axzz1kQqFCWTu|accessdate=25 January 2012|newspaper=The Cohasset Mariner|date=January 7, 2011}} 7 : American public relations people|Living people|Massachusetts Democrats|People from Cohasset, Massachusetts|Massachusetts Secretaries of Veterans' Services|United States Marine Corps reservists|Year of birth missing (living people) |
