We were just creatively burnt out."{{Citation needed|date=October 2013}} In an interview with NME, he went into further detail: "We didn't want to release something that we would mean we could just go back on tour and have fun. We just want to make a really great record."[1] Reception{{Album reviews| MC = 59/100[5] | rev1 = Clash | rev1Score = 8/10[6] | rev2 = DIY | rev2Score = 6/10[7] | rev3 = Drowned in Sound | rev3Score = 5/10[8] | rev4 = The Guardian | rev4Score = {{Rating|3|5}}[9] | rev5 = Impact | rev5Score = {{Rating|4|5}}[10] | rev6 = musicOMH | rev6Score = {{Rating|3|5}}[11] | rev7 = NME | rev7Score = 5/10[12] }}Collections received mixed reviews from critics. At Metacritic, the album received an average score of 59, based on 12 reviews, which indicates "mixed or average reviews".NME writer David Renshaw called it "confident and professional" but said that it would be unlikely to appeal to fans of either dance music or guitar bands.[13] In reviewing it for the BBC, Ben Hewitt summarised the album as "on the whole, Collections is a misfire and proof that, sometimes, re-inventing the wheel doesn’t always reap rewards – especially if you were already journeying more gracefully from A-to-B than most of your contemporaries."[14] Track listing[15]{{tracklist| collapsed = | headline = | title1 = Of the Young | title2 = Baiya | title3 = Changes | title4 = Freedom Found | title5 = Atlas | title6 = Tears Before Bedtime | title7 = The Sun Also Rises | title8 = Memeo | title9 = Don't Let the Dreamers Take You Away | title10 = Exotic | length1 = 3:54 | length2 = 4:22 | length3 = 4:29 | length4 = 4:20 | length5 = 6:10 | length6 = 2:50 | length7 = 3:37 | length8 = 3:38 | length9 = 5:05 | length10 = 4:31 |total_length = 42:56 }} Personnel
