It was one of four houses built by the Sneed family on the Old Smyrna Road.[2] HistoryThe mansion was built circa 1825.[1] It was built by Constantine Sneed (1790-1864)[2], the son of James Sneed and the great-great-great-great uncle of Carly Fiorina, a veteran of the American Revolutionary War who received a land grant of 640 acres and Williamson County in 1798.[3] One of Constantine Sneed's brothers was Reverend Joseph P. Sneed.[4] It is a two-story brick house, upon a dressed limestone foundation, with brick on the front facade laid in Flemish bond and other facades having five course common bond.[2] Architectural significanceIt has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988.[1] When listed the property included the main, brick two-story house, which was the listing's one contributing building. It also included one contributing structure, one non-contributing building, and one non-contributing structure, on an area of {{convert|8.2|acre}}.[3][1] References1. ^1 2 3 {{NRISref|version=2009a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Sneed, Constantine, House}}{{Tennessee-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/f4615a08-2309-4e9e-9cec-4fc59c57e549/ |title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Constantine Sneed House (WM-77) / Windy Hill |publisher=National Park Service|author= |date= |accessdate=May 1, 2018}} With [https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/5d74fd80-f11a-4df2-b7f1-4cc1385aa509 accompanying 10 photos from 1987] 3. ^1 2 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=64500624}} |title=Historic Resources of Williamson County (Partial Inventory of Historic and Architectural Properties), National Register of Historic Places Inventory Nomination |author=Thomason Associates and Tennessee Historical Commission |date=February 1988 |publisher=National Park Service}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Historic Brentwood: The Sneed Family.|url=https://brentwood-tn.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=95|website=City of Brentwood|accessdate=February 11, 2016|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20161011144828/https://brentwood-tn.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=95|archivedate=October 11, 2016|df=}} 4 : Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in Tennessee|Houses in Williamson County, Tennessee|Houses completed in 1825|National Register of Historic Places in Williamson County, Tennessee |
