It was described by Francis Walker in 1859.[1] It is found from southern Venezuela and north-western Brazil north to the coast of Suriname and French Guiana.[2] The apical and tornal areas of the forewings are brown with a yellow spot from the costa to the middle of the wing. The subterminal line is silver. The hindwings have a linear patch consisting of white scales, intermixed with brown scales. There are five large marginal spots.[3] References1. ^{{cite web |last=Nuss |first=M. |display-authors=etal |date=2003–2014 |url=http://globiz.pyraloidea.org/Pages/Reports/TaxonReport.aspx |title=GlobIZ search |website=Global Information System on Pyraloidea |accessdate=2014-07-15}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q13498886}}{{Glaphyriinae-stub}}2. ^Phylogenetic Analysis of Cosmopterosis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae: Glaphyriinae) with Discussions on Male Secondary Sexual Characters and Larval Feeding on Capparis (Capparaceae) in the Pyraloidea and Lepidoptera (Insecta) 3. ^{{cite journal |last1=Solis |first1=M.
