OverviewIt is a borough located some km north-west from the centre of Biella, along the road leading to the sanctuary of Oropa. From its elongated shape came the Piedmontese saying Cosila, longa e sotila (in English: Cossila, long and thin).[2] Its southernmost part is called Cossila San Grato and the northernmost one Cossila San Giovanni. HistorySince 1940 Cossila was a separate comune (municipality), which also encompassed the village of Favaro.[3] References1. ^Carta Tecnica Regionale raster 1:10.000 (vers.3.0), published by Regione Piemonte - 2007 {{Commonscat-inline|Cossila}}2. ^Cossila longa e sotila : vicende storiche e curiose di una ridente frazione; Andrea Coda-Bertetto, 1967, Biella 3. ^Comune di Cossila, care of Archivio di Stato di Biella; web page on http://www.asbi.it/asb.html?fase=cossila (accessed: July 2012) {{Biella-geo-stub}} 3 : Frazioni of the Province of Biella|Biella|Former communes of the Province of Biella |
