It was described by Klots in 1942.[1] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from New Mexico[2] and Arizona. The length of the forewings is 12–15 mm. The ground colour of the forewings is greenlish-brassy brown, paler towards the inner margin. The hindwings are grey brown, paler towards the anal margin. EtymologyThe species is named for Ranger John W.
